Saw this video earlier, and not gonna lie... I was watching the tire too.
But then again I wasn’t driving anything more dangerous than a mouse.

To both drivers.

Driving or riding? And where did you find a saddle small enough for that thing?

yeah... Dodge should not have slammed on the brakes because they got scared by the tire, Prius had plenty of time to stop or weave left or right to avoid, possible mechanical error causing the initial tire separation. Everybody has a slice of this one.... I wonder what a Tesla would have done?

Tesla probably would have stopped, then gotten sandwiched by the car behind them...

“braked suddenly without leaving time for the film car to stop.”
Umm, actually... NO! If the Prius driver hadn’t been focused on the fucking tire she would have avoided the accident.
Yes, the challenger was beyond stupid to stop even though the tire was gone, but that doesn’t excuse the Prius driver even a little bit for not paying any attention at all.

Hit a towing hitch in the road.

Is there a car in front of the Challenger? What is that green/yellow thing right before impact?

That video is the very embodiment of, “D’OH!”

Even looking through the Challenger’s windows, I’m still not seeing anything there. Pretty sure there was no one in front of him. To be fair though, that actually appears to be a dually pair of wheels, presumably joined with whatever’s left of the hub. So maybe something else broke off and came to rest in their lane as the tires kept bouncing? (eh, probably not, but that’s the best I can do towards giving them the benefit of the doubt)
What green/yellow thing?

It’s grass! There really is no good ending if you stop in the left lane of the highway.

Correction, to all three drivers - preventative maintenance and proper pre-trip inspection should’ve prevented the initial issue.
